FORMATION FOR PRIESTHOOD
All priestly formation takes place within the context of the Church as the Body of Christ and in relationship to the mission of the Church. Thus it is essential that the formation of the candidate for priesthood be integrated within the wider ecclesial dimension so that the candidate
understands his role as a priest to be the representative
and servant of the Church.
As a seminarian begins his priestly formation, he is called to deeply discern his vocational call and grow in many aspects of his life. Seminary Formation formalizes this through the four dimensions of priestly formation.
Intellectual
"...acquire a personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is… the one teacher..."
Pastoral
"...make them true shepherds of souls after the example of our Lord Jesus Christ..."
TIMELINE OF SEMINARY FORMATION
